The single camera comedy follows a diverse group of New York City detectives and Braugher will play the precinct’s Captain.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the pilot cast also includes Terry Crews (“Everybody Hates Chris”), Stephanie Beatriz (“Modern Family”), Melissa Fumero (“One Life to Live”) and another “Parks and Rec” writer, Chelsea Peretti. “21 Jump Street” filmmakers Phil Lord and Chris Miller are directing.
If the show is picked up, it would mark Braugher’s first series regular gig on a half-hour comedy. He won two Emmys — for NBC’s “Homicide: Life on the Street” in 1998 and FX’s miniseries “Thief” in 2006 — and garnered additional nominations for HBO’s movie “The Tuskegee Airmen,” ABC’s medical drama “Gideon’s Crossing” and TNT’s dramedy “Men of a Certain Age.”
Most recently, Braugher led the cast of ABC’s “Last Resort,” which wrapped a 13-episode run in January after being canceled earlier this season.
