Pop star Lady Gaga is not a fan of her former personal assistant, Jennifer O’Neill, court papers make clear.
O’Neill is suing the singer for $393,000 in unpaid overtime. In a deposition in the case obtained by the New York Post, Gaga says O’Neill knew she wasn’t entitled to overtime pay and further, that she didn’t always deserve the pay she got.
“She’s just — she thinks she’s just like the queen of the universe,” Gaga says of O’Neill. “And, you know what, she didn’t want to be a slave to one, because in my work and what I do, I’m the queen of the universe every day.”
Later, Gaga says to O’Neill, who was also in the room, “This whole case is bulls***, and you know it.
“… I’m quite wonderful to everybody that works for me, and I am completely aghast to what a disgusting human being that you have become to sue me like this,” Gaga says. “Because she slept in Egyptian cotton sheets every night, in five-star hotels, on private planes, eating caviar, partying with [photographer] Terry Richardson all night, wearing my clothes, asking [Yves Saint Laurent] to send her free shoes without my permission, using my YSL discount without my permission.”
Gaga goes on to say O’Neill was “majorly unqualified” for the job, which paid $75,000 a year.
The singer adds that rather than pay what O’Neill is asking in the lawsuit, she will “give all the money that she wants to my employees that work hard for me now that deserve it. I’m not going to give it to her so she can go to Intermix and buy herself a new tube top.”
