Christoph Waltz has done well to stick with Quentin Tarantino, because he’s now won his second Oscar thanks to the “Pulp Fiction” director’s films. After taking home Best Supporting Actor for “Inglourious Basterds” in 2010, Waltz was given the award again because of “Django Unchained.”
“My unlimited gratitude goes to Dr. King Schultz, that is of course to his creator and the creator of his awe inspiring world, Quentin Tarantino,” Waltz said during his speech. “We participated in a hero’s journey, the hero here being Quentin, who scaled a mountain because he was not afraid of it, you slayed a dragon because you were not afraid of it.”
“Django Unchained” is also up for Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay, Best Cinematography and Best Sound Editing. Best Supporting Actor was the first award of the night.
