It’s all about Jeff’s dad (played by guest star James Brolin) and turkey on the next episode of “Community.” Cast interviews help to explain what this means in a special Thanksgiving-in-March episode of the show.
Holidays on “Community” are about as weird as… Well, they’re about as weird as anything that happens on “Community.” At least there’s an explanation for the holiday oddities — NBC’s postponement of the series until winter through off the episode scheduling. As a result, we’re coming up on the Season 4 Thanksgiving episode — “Cooperative Escapism in Familial Relations” — next.
To preview Thursday’s episode, NBC has released a series of interviews with the cast. Obviously, Joel McHale should have plenty to say, considering that he’s the one reuniting with a long-lost father. Literal fireworks would be cool.
McHale also teases that the episode will at least partially take place at Shirley’s (Yvette Nicole Brown) in-laws’ house. When you consider that the actor playing her husband is Malcolm-Jamal Warner, how cool would it be if the in-laws were Bill Cosby and Phylicia Rashad? But that’s probably not going to happen.
Still, “Community” did get James Brolin to play Jeff’s dad. Anything is possible after that!
We have Britta (Gillian Jacobs) to thank/blame for this arrival. Speaking of Britta…
Finally, Brown talks about the very first, “cray-cray” Thanksgiving episode of “Community.”
Will the study group manage to escape the prison that is Thanksgiving? We will find out when the episode airs on Thursday, March 7 at 8pm on NBC.
