Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg have not yet released their first movie, “This Is The End,” but they already another film lined up. It’s called “The Interview,” and Rogen will also star in it for Columbia Pictures.
The Hollywood Reporter has learned, Rogen and Goldberg wrote the story for “The Interview” with “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart’s” Dan Sterling and will produce the film as well. In addition, James Franco is being considered for a lead role, though talks with him have not started yet.
Franco and Rogen have been an onscreen pair since they starred together in “Freaks and Geeks,” famously teaming up in “Pineapple Express” as well as in the upcoming “This Is the End” and, briefly, in “The Green Hornet.” It wouldn’t be much of a stretch to see Franco agree to star in “The Interview” for Rogen’s sake despite his very busy schedule.
According to THR, “The Interview” is a “topical comedy” that follows a “handsome talk show host (potentially Franco) and his producer (Rogen) who find themselves in way over their heads when they get involved in a plot to assassinate the prime minister of North Korea.”
