If you tuned in for the “Game of Thrones” Season 3 premiere, then you were not alone. The viewership numbers for the episode have come in, and “Valar Dohaeris” is now the most-watched installment of the “Game of Thrones” series.
According to reports, 4.4 million viewers tuned in for the Season 3 premiere. It played three times on Sunday, and the total number of people who watched “Valar Dohaeris” totaled 6.7 million. Both of those numbers are significantly larger than the ones for “Game of Thrones'” Season 2 premiere episode.
“The North Remembers,” which debuted on April 1, 2012, had 3.9 million viewers, giving Season 3 a 13 percent increase in people tuning in. With the repeats, the Season 2 premiere had 6.3 million viewers, meaning there was a 7 percent increase this year. Though HBO hasn’t greenlit a Season 4 yet, these numbers are an almost certain guarantee that Jon, Dany and Tyrion will be back again in 2014 — and just think, there are still nine more episodes left this Season.
