Matthew McConaughey and Reese Witherspoon have a new movie in select theaters Friday (April 26). “Mud” follows a fugitive, who answers to the name of Mud (McConaughey), trying to reunite with his love Juniper (Witherspoon), while avoiding going to jail.
He’s helped along the way by two teenage boys who discover Mud living on an abandoned boat they claimed as a clubhouse. The movie screened at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival, and at Sundance in January.
Written and directed by Jeff Nichols (“Take Shelter”), “Mud” also stars Michael Shannon, Sarah Paulson and Sam Shepard. The movie’s premiere was held Sunday (April 21). Witherspoon was among the cast members to attend, two days after she was arrested for disorderly conduct.
