But that didn’t matter much to Ingo Rademacher when the “General Hospital” was eliminated in this week of semi-finals competition. Along with partner Kym Johnson, Ingo fell just short of the finals. Not that this was a surprise — Ingo and Kym had the lowest scores of the night on Monday and were the lowest-scoring couple overall at this point in the competition.
Barring a big voting upset, Ingo and Kym were definitely the ones expected to go home.
1. (tie) Aly Raisman and Mark Ballas: 59 points
1. (tie) Jacoby Jones and Karina Smirnoff: 59 points
3. Kellie Pickler and Derek Hough: 58 points
4. Zendaya and Val Chmerkovskiy: 55 points
5. Ingo Rademacher and Kym Johnson: 51 points
Technically, this was a big shakeup, with Jacoby getting a top spot for the first time ever and Zendaya dropping to fourth place. But this was so close, you couldn’t be sure if it even mattered.
The overall standings
With the points from the whole season combined, the rankings were a bit different.
1. Kellie and Derek: 321 points
2. Zendaya and Val: 320 points
3. Aly and Mark: 316 points
4. Jacoby and Karina: 300 points
5. Ingo and Kym: 272 points
Obviously, things were not looking good for Ingo and Kym going into this elimination.
Entertainment and stuff like that
Kellie and Derek got the encore dance with their Argentine tango (the one with all the shadows). It’s still very pretty.
Sophia Lucia is a 10-year-old who super into dancing and who broke a Guinness world record for most number of consecutive pirouettes — at 55. That is a lot of spinning. “DWTS” gave her a featured performance with four of the pro dancers. The girl really is kind of amazing.
The rest of the results
Right at the beginning of the show, Jacoby and Karina found out that they were heading to the finals.
We had to wait a long time for any other results. When they finally came, Kellie and Derek were declared safe, while Zendaya and Val were in jeopardy.
That left only two couples waiting to hear at the end. Aly and Mark got their automatic spot in the finals, while Ingo and Kym remained in jeopardy.
While Tom admitted that these two pairs may not represent the bottom two, at least one couple was in the bottom because Ingo and Kym were eliminated.
This means that the “Dancing with the Stars” Season 16 finals will be danced by Aly Raisman, Jacoby Jones, Kellie Pickler and Zendaya.
