There was sad news in the racing world Thursday (May 16) when former NASCAR driver Richard “Dick” Trickle was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
TMZ has obtained the 911 call Trickle, 71, made before taking his own life, which paints a picture of a calm, but sad man. Trickle placed the call to tell authorities exactly where to find his body.
“The Forest Lawn Cemetery … on the back side of it, by a ’93 pickup, there’s gonna be a dead body. Suicide. … I’m the one,” says Trickle.
The 911 operator pleads with him to stay on the line while she gets some help for him, but he hangs up. Emergency personnel found his body a short time later.
