Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly might have accidentally broadcast a curse word during an on-air Google Glass demonstration, but at least she hasn’t seen any negative consequences. According to a new report, Fox News has opted to renew Kelly’s contract.
The New York Times reports that Kelly’s contract renewal could mean that she’s moving into the 10 p.m. Fox News time slot. The report describes this potential change as “seismic,” as Fox News has had consistent shows and hosts for years. The network’s 8 p.m. host, Bill O’Reilly, and 9 p.m. host, Sean Hannity, are contracted for several more years.
Kelly could replace Greta Van Susteren, who currently holds the 10 p.m. hour. Susteren’s husband John Coale is suffering from cancer, and Coale tells the New York Times that his wife would “happily move to an earlier hour” so that they can spend “quality time together.” A Fox News representative wouldn’t confirm the contract news or potential schedule changes.
