After pulling the Season 3 finale of “Mike & Molly” from the schedule last week, CBS has settled on a new airdate. The episode will air this Thursday (May 30) following a repeat of the network’s top comedy, “The Big Bang Theory.”
CBS abruptly pulled the “M&M” finale from its scheduled May 20 airdate, after a devastating tornado struck Oklahoma City. The episode’s storyline involves Mike (Billy Gardell) and Molly (Melissa McCarthy) preparing for a tornado heading for Chicago.
At the time, CBS said in a statement that the pre-emption was “due to the tragic events in Oklahoma” and the finale would be rescheduled for “an appropriate date.” Although “M&M” usually airs on Mondays, scheduling a fresh episode after “Big Bang” is a smart move. Even in reruns, “Big Bang” was last Thursday’s most watched show on any network.
“Mike & Molly” has been renewed for Season 4 with a full 22-episode order, although it is not on CBS’ fall schedule.
