On Wednesday’s (May 8) special episode of “The Voice,” Season 4’s Top 12 was announced. America’s votes advanced two artists from each team, while coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Usher and Shakira were each able to save one more.
As we prepare for the Top 12 to take the stage on Monday, it’s time to take stock of who’s left and who on each team stands the best chance of going all the way.
Team Adam: Amber Carrington, Judith Hill and Sarah Simmons
It was a tough night for Adam, with America advancing Carrington and Hill, forcing him to choose between Simmons and his beloved Caroline Glaser. You could tell he didn’t even expect to have to send one of them home and, with the show out of time, he literally made his decision at the last second. As for who on this team could sweep the competition? Hill, without a doubt. Simmons is terrific, but that vote proved she’s on rocky ground with America. There’s still time for her to turn it around, but, as far as Team Adam is concerned, this is Hill’s show to lose.
Team Blake: Danielle Bradbery, Holly Tucker and The Swon Brothers
Both of Shelton’s country cuties earned America’s vote, leaving the coach to choose between the brothers and bland Justin Rivers. He chose the Swons, wisely. As for who could give the other teams a true run for their money and win this thing? That’s all Bradbery. She’s got such talent for such little experience, America is going to eat her up.
Team Shakira: Garrett Gardner, Kris Thomas and Sasha Allen
Allen and Thomas advanced, leaving the newbie coach to choose between the comeback kid Gardner and experience powerhouse Karina Iglesias. It took Shakira a while to make up her mind, but she ultimately made the right choice with Gardner, who has taken every note ever given him to heart and shown a marked improvement with every performance. While his growth has been great to watch, Allen is Team Shakira’s shining light. This golden-voiced diva is no joke. Look for her to give everyone a run for their money.
Team Usher: Josiah Hawley, Michelle Chamuel and Vedo
America’s votes advanced Vedo and Chamuel, leaving Usher to decide between heartthrob Hawley and Latina spitfire Cathia. The R&B superstar put his faith behind Hawley, but his hopes of being the winning coach this season lie in Chamuel. Of the three, she seems the only one capable of delivering authentic moments during her performances, rather than relying on hokey dancing (Vedo) or bland beauty (Hawley).
Who in the Top 12 do you think could win Season 4, “Voice” fans?
