Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie might have walked the red carpet together at the London and Berline premieres of “World War Z,” but the actress was nowhere to be found when it came time for the film to make its premiere in New York. According to Pitt, Jolie was absent because she had better, more charitable events to prepare for.
“She’s getting ready for World Refugee Day,” he admits to reporters on the “World War Z” red carpet. Because of Thursday’s holiday, Jolie remained in Los Angeles while Pitt flew to New York.
The longtime couple has been extra affectionate since Jolie opted for a voluntary double mastectomy. Pitt had nothing but kind things to say about his partner in New York.
“She has always been the brave, bold individual that I fell for — and sexy as ever,” Pitt says.
As for their children, it turns out that 11-year-old Maddox got to take a role in “World War Z,” just like little sistaer Vivienne has in Jolie’s upcoming “Maleficent.” “He’s got a small piece in it,” Pitt says of Maddox’s “World War Z” role. “He’s a zombie who then gets shot. I don’t know what that says about my parenting!”
“World War Z” is due in theaters on June 21.
