Brooke Mueller was hospitalized back at the beginning of May for prescription drug abuse and subsequently entered rehab. Now sources from the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services tell TMZ that completing rehab may not be enough to get custody or visitation with twins Bob and Max, her four-year-old sons with actor Charlie Sheen.
Mueller has been in rehab dozens of times, with relapses coming quite frequently. Family members are willing to help her try to regain some sort of custody, including a family member offering to live with Mueller.
But DCFS sources say it’s too risky to return the twins to Mueller’s care until she’s proven she can stay clean and sober for a long period of time. The twins were originally removed from her care because DCFS thought her home was “unsafe” due to her drug use.
The children’s arrangement has nothing to do with Sheen — TMZ reports that it is all up to DCFS whether Mueller can care for the children or not.
