In a series of tweets Saturday morning (June 1), Harmon hinted at and then confirmed he’s returning to the NBC show. Reports of Harmon’s return have been circulating for weeks, and “Community” producer Sony confirmed earlier this week that it was talking with Harmon about a return.
Harmon began his “Community” Twitter tease Saturday by asking, “Does anyone know any talented writers that haven’t been hired by Parks and Rec? I’m staffing for a friend.”
He then listed some “deal breakers” for his possible return, and said he would “very much like it” if the cast returned. When a follower demanded a “straight answer,” Harmon replied with this:

Cast members Gillian Jacobs, Jim Rash and Ken Jeong subsequently tweeted “welcome back” messages.
Harmon was fired from the show last year at the end of Season 3, and Moses Port and David Guarascio took over as showrunners. “Community” continued to struggle in the ratings this season, with some fans saying the show felt off without Harmon’s voice. NBC nonetheless renewed the show for next season, although it doesn’t have a place on the schedule yet.
