Good Charlotte frontman, and current “The Voice Australia” coach, Joel Madden found himself in a bit of trouble when he was evicted from his hotel near Sydney, Australia on Sunday (June 9) after a small amount of weed was found in his room.
TMZ reports that the New South Wales, Australia police executed a search warrant at 10:30 pm on Sunday night and found a “small amount of plant matter believed to be cannabis.” The police initially refused to identify Madden at the owner of the marijuana, but the website spoke with the manager of the Darling Hotel, who said, “Joel Madden was ejected from the hotel because a small amount of cannabis was found inside his hotel room. In Australia there is a zero tolerance for this no matter where you are.”
Madden took his Tumblr to clear up matters and offer an apology of sorts. “Sunday while I was at work, a hotel employee found a small amount of marijuana in my hotel room. The police were called and responded. Sydney is my adopted home and I appreciate the way the NSW police handled the situation. They have informed me there will be no charges. I hope this didn’t cause too much drama for anyone.”
