Paris Jackson, daughter of the late pop superstar Michael Jackson, was rushed to the hospital Wednesday (June 5) after she cut herself in a suicide attempt. Now there are varying reports as to exactly why Jackson did what she did.
TMZ says that the cops have officially classified the incident as a “suicide attempt,” but that they don’t think she intended to actually kill herself.
Law enforcement sources tell the site that Jackson wanted attention and the fact that she called a suicide hotline was evidence that she “wanted to be saved.” One source says, “She called the suicide hotline because she wanted the attention and wanted to make sure EMTs got there in time.”
Another source adds, “She’s into the drama.”
But E! Online has a source that says Jackson has recently been bullied at school and that she feels “like an outsider” amongst her peers.
“She has been complaining recently about feeling bullied at school. She does not have very many true friends there, and she doesn’t feel like she really fits in,” says the source.
Of course, it’s very possible that Jackson feels bullied and still attempted suicide in order to gain attention, but that might end up getting her the wrong kind of attention from said bullies.
Either way, it’s good that Paris is getting help. Grandmother Katherine Jackson says in a statement that Paris is “physically fine” and getting the medical attention that she needs.
