Actress-singer Pia Zadora has been arrested on suspicion of domestic battery and coercion, reports the AP.
The 61-year-old celebrity was booked Saturday (June 1) into the Clark County Detention Center after a disturbance at her Las Vegas home, then later released on $4000 bail. The AP reports that the actress was taken into custody six hours after the police responded to the disturbance call.
UPDATE: TMZ is reporting that Zadora was arrested because she allegedly choked her 16-year-old son Jordan and punched and scratched her step-son during an argument. According to the police report, Zadora admits she may have injured the boys during the altercation, but “only by accident.”
Interestingly, Zadora met her current husband, Las Vegas police detective Michael Jeffries, after she contacted police in 2005 to report a stalking incident.
Zadora was a child actress on Broadway, then briefly dabbled in a movie career as an adult, appearing in “Hairspray,” “Troop Beverly Hills” and “Naked Gun 33 1/3,” before turning to a singing career releasing covers of old standards.
