Michelle Obama is not someone to be messed with. While she was speaking at a Democratic National Committee fundraising event, the First Lady was heckled by a gay rights protestor who took issue with the fact that President Barack Obama has not yet signed an executive order that would protect those working for federal contractors from gender discrimination, and Obama let her unhappiness at being put in that situation be known.
Footage of the heckling has surfaced and can be watched above. Obama can be seen speaking to the crowd before someone starts shouting at her from the audience. “One of the things that I don’t do well is this,” Obama says.
According to the Associated Press, the heckler continued to harass Obama until she finally put her foot down. “Listen to me, or you can take the mic. But I’m leaving,” she reportedly said. The protester escorted out of the event and was later identified as GetEQUAL activist Ellen Sturtz.
