Britney Spears‘ deal for her Las Vegas residency is expected to be finalized in the next week and a half. According to reports about the Caesars Entertainment show, the official announcement will come mid-July.
Sources tell The Las Vegas Sun that Spears is busy prepping for the Planet Hollywood show, even if talks aren’t officially finalized yet. If everything goes according to plan, she should be ready to perform by early 2014.
“The deal with Britney and her representatives is all set, but the delays have been with all the legal and accounting people we have to work with on our end,” a Caesars executive says. “We honestly hope now to see her two-year residency run start in the week leading up to New Year’s, but if the refurbishing of the theater slips behind schedule and its budgeted numbers, which is out of our control, it will still definitely start early in the first quarter of next year.”
Spears is already scoping out Hollywood directors to help her develop the show concept. Rumor has it that Jamie King, who worked with Spears on her 2009 “Circus” World tour, might be the man for the job.
