British actor Paul Bhattacharjee, who’d been missing for a week, has been found dead at 53 in London.
The actor, who appeared in films including “Casino Royale” and “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel,” was last seen on July 10 leaving London’s Court Theater, where he was rehearsing for the play “Talk Show.” The BBC reports that his body was discovered at Splash Point cliffs in East Sussex on July 12, but was only confirmed to be his on Wednesday
The police are not treating Bhattacharjee’s death as suspicious. When the actor was last seen, he was said to be in good spirits. His last known communication was a text message to his girlfriend on the day he disappeared.
His 24-year-old son, Rahul Bhattacharjee-Prashar, spoke with London’s Evening Standard, saying his father’s disappearance was “completely out of character.”
“He was doing well in his career and everything seemed to be going okay. I just don’t know what has happened,” he told the paper. “Please, we are just worried sick.”
Our thought remain with Bhattacharjee’s family and friends.
