Comic-Con regulars know Thursday is usually the calm before the epic storm of Friday and Saturday. And without “Twilight” on the agenda, this year’s first full day of the Con looks even less packed than usual.
Except, of course, for the 20th Anniversary of “The X-Files” which should fill Ballroom 20 past its breaking point and likely have hardcore fans lining up early just to guarantee a seat.
On the movie side, panels for “Divergent” and “Ender’s Game” will try to lure the “Twilight” crowd (and hopefully appeal to some non-“Twilight” loving sci-fi fans as well). While anticipated TV panels also include fan favorites “Psych,” “Dexter,” “Teen Wolf,” “Wilfred” and “Beauty and the Beast” and newcomers “Hannibal,” “The Blacklist,” “Star-Crossed” and “Intelligence” (with “Lost” star Josh Holloway).
Plus, the first ever Con panel for the BBC’s awesome “Sherlock” (which airs stateside on PBS). Sadly, without stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman — though don’t be surprised if they send a video greeting. (Plus, it’s in Ballroom 20 right before “X-Files,” so it’s likely to be a madhouse.)
