One of the more interesting notes to come out of Comic-Con was that a sequel to “Fight Club” is in the works. Don’t get too excited about seeing Brad Pitt and Ed Norton on screen together once again though, as this sequel will be in graphic novel format.
The author of the book “Fight Flub,” Chuck Palahniuk, announced that the graphic novel was coming. In a followup email to his fan site, the writer explained the plan a bit further.
According to Palahniuk, the series will likely pick up ten years after the supposed end of Tyler Durden (portrayed by Pitt in the movie). As for the plot, he says, “Nowadays, Tyler is telling the story, lurking inside Jack, and ready to launch a come-back. Jack is oblivious. Marla is bored. Their marriage has run aground on the rocky coastline of middle-aged suburban boredom. It’s only when their little boy disappears, kidnapped by Tyler, that Jack is dragged back into the world of Mayhem.”
Palahniuk says he has other projects he has to work on first, contractually, but hopes that the sequel being in the forsormt of a graphic novel will allow him to work on it earlier than 2015. There is no deal in place with a publisher yet, as that’s something he’s waiting on until the entire story is figured out.
