“Gravity,” an upcoming film starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney, directed by Alfonso Cuaron, has a new trailer. This trailer may be one of the tensest and most stressful two minutes of footage ever.
Seriously, watching this video may bring on a panic attack.
The concept of the film is simple. Dr. Ryan Stone (Bullock) is a first-time astronaut and a medical engineer. Matt Kowalsky (Clooney) is a veteran in command of his final shuttle mission. Thanks to debris striking the shuttle, Stone and Kowalsky are left alone in space. They are tethered to each other, but oxygen is limited and both are hurtling into the hopeless realm of deep space.
Do the astronauts have any chance of getting home? It sure doesn’t sound like it.
In the “Detached” clip, audiences see the beginning of the astronauts’ problems. Despite everyone’s best efforts, radio communications go silent and Stone’s tragically small figure vanishes into the darkness.
Prepare yourself for nightmares — of the best kind — after an image like that.
