The acclaimed musical “Chicago” will take the stage in Los Angeles in July, and will he headed by an all-star cast. The three-day run at the Hollywood Bowl will feature Lucy Lawless, “True Blood” star Stephen Moyer and “The Price is Right” host Drew Carey, THR reports.
The show will be directed by Brooke Shields, who has some history with “Chicago,” as she starred in productions on Broadway and London’s West End. Also joining the cast is Samantha Barks, who had a breakout role in 2012’s film adaptation of “Les Miserables.”
“Chicago” will run July 26 – July 28. All three of the show’s main stars have stage experience. Lawless made her Broadway debut as Rizzo in a 1997 revival of “Grease,” while Carey appeared in a Hollywood Bowl production of “Hairspray” in 2011. Moyer has quite a stage background, after spending time with the National Theatre of Wales, the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Oxford Stage Company and the Young Vic in England.
