If Selena Gomez was excited about the fact she got her first No. 1 song with “Come and Get It,” she’s going to be even more thrilled by her latest album news. The pop star scored her first No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with the debut of her album “Stars Dance.”
The closest Gomez ever came to the No. 1 spot before was when her 2011 album “When the Sun Goes Down” hit No. 3. The fact that she finally topped the chart is pretty impressive for Gomez, who turned 21 on July 22.
With Gomez now at No. 1, Jay Z‘s “Magna Carta … Holy Grail” is finally moved down to No. 2 after dominating for the past two weeks. He sold 77,000 copies this week, while Gomez sold 97,000.
“Stars Dance” came out on July 19.
