Considering how long Susan Boyle has been a media sensation, it’s surprising that she is only kicking off her first live tour tonight in Inverness, Scotland. The Scottish singer and “Britain’s Got Talent” alum first rose to fame in 2009, and it’s stayed with her up until now.
Scotsman is reporting that 98 percent of Boyle’s tour tickets have already been sold. Her week-long tour of Scotland also includes stops in the Highlands, Aberdeen, Dundee, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
“I’m really looking forward to getting on stage and singing with my own band for an entire show,” Boyle said when the tour was first announced. “If this works well, then the world is my oyster and 2014 will be a global tour. I’ve chosen my favorite songs from past albums and also new songs that not only have I wanted to perform for years but resonate with me and I hope my fans will love.”
Of course, even though Boyle hasn’t toured yet doesn’t mean that she hasn’t had her share of exciting performances. She returned to “Britain’s Got Talent” with a special performance in 2012, and the next day sang at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Pageant at Windsor Castle. The singer, who is 52-years-old, reportedly has a net worth of over $33.5 million.
