AMC has announced a premiere date for Season 4 of “The Walking Dead,” and based on the four-plus minutes of new footage released at Comic-Con Friday (July 19), the next couple of months can’t pass quickly enough.
The hit series will return on Sunday, Oct. 13. Like last season, AMC will split the 16 episodes into two blocks of eight, with the second half due to premiere in February 2014. Aftershow “Talking Dead” will also be back.
(For much more on “The Walking Dead,” see Zap2it’s Comic-Con panel report.)
The new season will find Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and the rest of the survivors temporarily finding some peace inside the prison’s fences. It doesn’t last, though, as walkers keep coming and new threats both inside and outside prison walls surface.
Additionally, AMC is planning a marathon of all three previous “Walking Dead” seasons in the week prior to the Season 4 premiere.
But enough about scheduling. Watch the trailer — which also features new cast member Larry Gilliard Jr. — below, and let us know what you think.
