Amanda Bynes was scheduled to appear in court Friday (Aug. 9) because her parents are pursuing a temporary conservatorship in light of her recent troubles with the law (among other troubles she’s been having this year).
But TMZ is reporting that doctors at the psychiatric hospital where she has been held for the past two weeks said she is not well enough to leave the hospital, so the judge came to her to conduct an emergency hearing. The judge then granted the doctors’ request of extending Bynes’ psychiatric hold for 30 days.
This is the second such extension, as Bynes was initially admitted on a 72-hour psych hold that was extended to two weeks back in July.
Bynes’ parents are still pursing the temporary conservatorship, which would stay in effect until Sept. 30 and give them power over her finances.
Hopefully Bynes is on her way to recovery.
