According to “The Bachelorette: After the Final Rose” special, Desiree is still happily engaged to Chris Siegfried.
“I’ve been doing this quite some time now, but I’ve never been through it like that. … There were bumps and bruises. Can you even believe you’re here?” asks host Chris Harrison.
“I think you have to go through the hard and the difficult in order to see the good. … It was important to go through heartbreak in order to see the beauty and love. Chris was always there and I always was falling in love with him. It’s not like I woke up one day and was like, ‘Oh, here’s the man of my dreams,'” says Desiree. “I never put pressure on having to have the ending be a proposal. I wanted to go into it open-minded and open-hearted. … Chris was never just — I would’ve never gone that far if I didn’t see it as a lifetime.”
When Chris finally joins Desiree on stage, they smooch and snuggle and say, “We’re here!” because they are kind of a boring couple. Maybe they’ll read us some poetry!
Chris does say that even now he 100 percent trusts his love with Desiree — “We’ve built something great since [the show ended].”
She also informs Brooks that she’s engaged to Chris and Brooks is very happy for her, which is nice — “I’m not entirely surprised. I saw that, I saw the way that Dez looked at Chris on group dates and in Rose Ceremonies, it was very apparent,” says Brooks.
We also have to talk about Drew, but does anybody really care? He seems great, but he was so boring with Desiree. He does very sweetly say that he’ll always be in her corner. Aww, Drew.
Overall, Chris and Desiree seem to be going strong, so good for them. Do you think they’re a good match?
