An image from one of Cory Monteith‘s final two movies, “McCanick,” has made its way online. In the film, Monteith plays a criminal drug addict who gets hunted down by narcotics director Eugene “Mack” McCanick (played by David Morse) and his partner Floyd (Mike Vogel).
Like Monteith’s other final film “All The Wrong Reasons,” “McCanick” will make its premiere at the Toronto Film Festival. The fest announced that the movie will open on Sept. 9.
The fact that Monteith plays a drug addict in “McCanick” will likely hit close to home for some fans, as the “Glee” star died due to a lethal combination of heroin and alcohol on July 13. His girlfriend Lea Michele opened up about Monteith’s death during her acceptance speech for Choice Actress at the Teen Choice Awards.
“I want to dedicate this award to Cory, for all of you out there who loved and admired Cory as much as I did,” she said. “I promise, with your love, we’re going to get through this together. He was very special to me, and also to the world. We were very lucky to witness his incredible talent, his handsome smile, and his beautiful, beautiful heart. So whether you knew him personally, or just as Finn Hudson, Cory reached out and became a part of all of our hearts. So thank you guys, so much.”
