The “DWTS” Season 17 cast will be introduced at some point during the East-coast broadcast of “Good Morning America,” between 7 and 9am. Unfortunately, the show will never be more specific than that, wanting dance fans to tune in for as long as possible.
As of now, there haven’t been many rumblings about which celebrities will appear on the upcoming season. The only prominent name to appear in recent weeks is Paula Deen — but she will not be doing the show.
Who should dance? That remains a matter of speculation at the moment.
Whichever stars do decide to cha-cha their way into glory, they will have to do so in a new format. Whereas previous “DWTS” seasons have aired two-hour performance shows on Mondays and one-hour results shows on Tuesdays, Season 17 will be different. Results will be incorporated into the Monday-night performance broadcast, with the elimination coming at the end of the two hours. Because of this new format, eliminations will be based on the judges’ scores for **that night, combined with audience votes from the week before.
It could be interesting.
“Dancing with the Stars” Season 17 premieres Monday, Sept. 16 at 8pm on ABC.
