An exhibition about the life of Grace Kelly
is making its one and only stop in the United States at the Michener Art Museum in Pennsylvania. Called “From Philadelphia to Monaco: Grace Kelly Beyond the Icon,” the exhibit will run from Oct. 28 through Jan. 26, 2014 at the museum.
Kelly was born in Philadelphia and spent her early years there before she moved to New York to pursue acting, so it’s no surprise the exhibition is making a stop in Pennsylvania. The exhibition follows Kelly’s journey from a beloved actress to becoming the Princess of Monaco on April 18, 1956. It features Kelly’s personal objects located in the Palace of Monaco and the Grimaldi Forums, such as letters, awards, fashion, photographs and other personal items like her 1954 Oscar for “The Country Girl.”
Michener Art Museum is located in Doylestown, Pa., which is about 27 miles north of Philadelphia. It’s worth noting is not far from where Kelly made her stage debut in 1949 at the Bucks County Playhouse. Will you check out this exhibition?
