Friday, Aug. 9 was Joy Behar‘s last day on “The View.” The left-leaning funnywoman has been a “View” host since its inception in 1997, making her the last original cast member other than Barbara Walters.
To celebrate Behar’s time on the show, her co-hosts made it a “This Was Your Life on ‘The View'” day, which Whoopi calls “quite a monumental day on ‘The View.'”
“I don’t know anything about this show. You told me not to ask questions, don’t tell me who’s on the show,” says Behar, laughing at a picture of herself from when the show started 16 years ago (above, which is almost 16 years to the day, Aug. 11, 1997 was its debut).
Mario Cantone hosted, cracking that it’s so great to be “hosting a spoof of a show that nobody remembers.” He goes on to introduce Behar’s greatest moments during her 16 years on the show. Guest stars included Regis Philbin, former co-host Meredith Vieira, Alan Alda, Joan Rivers and Tony Bennett.
