Justin Timberlake already worked with Ben Affleck once in the upcoming film “Runner, Runner,” so why not again? During a recent interview, Timberlake seemed open to the idea of joining Affleck in “Batman vs. Superman,” the forthcoming “Man of Steel” sequel — though he definitely doesn’t want to play Robin to Affleck’s Batman.
“Not a chance in hell,” Timberlake tells the Jim and Kim Show on radio station Fresh 102.7 of playing Robin. “I ain’t playing Robin. I have no aspiration to ever be a superhero in a movie. Now villain! I’ll tell you the villain I want to play more than anything because I grew up loving Batman, funny enough, is the Riddler. The Riddler is my favorite villain.”
“The Riddler was like a sociopath. He was proper crazy. So if I’m going to play crazy, I’m wanna play proper crazy,” he continues. “I’m ready. The Riddler. Give me a call.”
As for where he stands on the recent Batffleck-gate, Timberlake is a big supporter of his “Runner, Runner” costar taking on the cape and cowl. “Ben Affleck as Batman, I like it,” Timberlake says. “I worked with Ben last summer and I’ve seen his process. I think he’s a brilliant filmmaker. I think he’s an extreme talent so he could surprise a lot of people.”
Like Affleck, Timberlake is coming off a string of critically acclaimed films, so it would be a big shift in gears for him to jump into the superhero genre. “Batman vs. Superman,” which is not yet officially titled, is set for a July 17, 2015 release. Would you like to see Timberlake join the cast?
