A member of *NSYNC is speaking out about the rumors that the boy band will be reuniting at the 2013 Video Music Awards on Sunday (August 25). Lance Bass addressed the reports during his SiriusXM show, “Dirty Pop.” He didn’t actually confirm it one way or the other, though.
“Let me tell you how this all came about,” he says. “Justin Timberlake is getting the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award, so people are going to automatically think that we’re going to be there performing.” Bass says he thinks the rumors started after he posted a photo of himself, Chris Kirkpatrick and Joey Fatone at Timberlake’s concert in Florida.
He adds how nice the social media reaction is to the idea, considering Twitter and Facebook weren’t around when the band called it quits in 2002. The segment ends with Bass admitting that should a reunion happen, it would be an “amazing time.”
With how big the rumors are getting, no appearance by *NSYNC may be a disappointment to those who tune in. The VMAs are live, Sunday at 9 p.m. ET, on MTV.
