“I feel OK,” Johnson said with a smile when asked how he was doing. “I’ve come to realize I had an amazing time. It’s been a great experience, and I think about the millions of people out there who would really like to have this experience and learn dance and learn what ballroom dancing is all about.”
Both Keyshawn and Sharna pointed out that the football player really was starting at a beginner level — his dancing success was therefore a big accomplishment. “I think he did amazing for someone who came into this show not knowing a single step of dance or how to move to music,” Sharna explained. “I think he accomplished something really, really great this week. Finding confidence to do that, to be able to go out on the floor and give it everything when it’s so foreign to you — I couldn’t be more proud of him. It was wonderful. He is wonderful.”
Keyshawn added, “Anytime you can improve on a week ago, what more do you want?”
What is Keyshawn Johnson going to take away from dancing when he returns to the sports world? “I just learned I can do things outside the box. And this is totally outside the box for me!” he said.
Whatever the case, Keyshawn is not leaving “Dancing with the Stars” with any hard feelings about his short time there. “It’s like if I had to stand in line again to sign up for it, I’d be the first one in line,” the football player said as his goodbye.
