“Dominion,” a supernatural pilot in production for Syfy, has cast former “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “Merlin” star Anthony Stewart Head and three others — Roxanne McKee, Luke Allen-Gale and Shivani Ghai — for the production.
The pilot is based on the 2010 film, “Legion,” and picks up 25 years after the movie’s story ends. In the aftermath of an apocalyptic war between angels and humanity, the world has been transformed. One rebellious, young soldier finds out that he might be the unlikely savior of mankind, and “Dominion” follows his journey.
Head will play David Weel, the power-hungry president of the Senate of Vega (a place we know as Las Vegas). Often at odds with the city’s military leader, General Rysen, David will do whatever it takes to protect the city and his own position.
Roxanne McKee (“Game of Thrones”) has gotten the role of Claire Rysen, the General’s daughter and a leader at the highest levels of Vega’s society. The daughter of a war hero, Claire is a strong-willed and tough woman.
Luke Allen-Gale (“The Borgias”) will appear as William Weel, the son of David and no politician. Instead, William is a populist and the Head of the Church of the Savior.
Shivani Ghai (“The Bible”) has the guest-starring role of Arika, a diplomat sent from the city of Helena. Formerly Salt Lake City, Helena has a militant and matriarchal society. The two cities are tenuous allies.
There is no premiere date set yet for “Dominion.”
