Fifteen years after losing her first husband to to cancer, talk show host Katie Couric has found love and happiness with boyfriend John Molner, who is now her fiance after proposing over Labor Day weekend.
A rep for Couric confirms to People that Molner popped the question during a beach sunset in East Hampton, N.Y. The couple has been together for nearly two years, but only went public with their relationship in April 2012. Molner is head of merges and acquisitions at Brown Brothers Harriman, an investment bank.
Couric previously told People that when her husband Jay Monahan died, she imagined she might be like a “modern-day Carol Brady,” since her daughters Ellie and Carrie were only 6 and 2 at the time. But eventually she just had to accept that finding a second partner in life might not happen for her.
Until now, that is.
And look for Katie to be back with the second season of her self-titled talk show, which premieres on Monday, Sept. 9.
