A simple speeding ticket was all Kristin Cavallari should have gotten this morning, but thanks to an Illinois law her morning was much more stressful.
The new mom had a run-in with the police on Friday (Sept. 6) after she was pulled over for speeding, E! Online reports. The Evanston Police Department confirmed that she was stopped for speeding at around 11:50 a.m., and that it is Illinois state law that you must post a bond if you don’t have a valid driver’s license from the state.
Since Cavallari had a California license, she had to be escorted to the police station to pay bail. A source close to the former reality star said that Cavallari was at the station “for 30 to 40 minutes and she paid $150 in bail.”
Cavallari took to Twitter after the ordeal to vent her frustrations.
“Who knew having a California drivers license in Illinois was a CRIME to be escorted to the police station to post bail?!!” she tweeted. “What a morning.”
Cavallari also defended why she was driving with a California license. “FYI…I still have an apartment in LA so I’m a resident of California,” she tweeted.
