Norman Oosterbroek, a 43-year-old former bodyguard to Lady Gaga, Beyonce and Rihanna, was killed earlier this week in a tragic and bizarre home invasion incident in south Florida.
NBC 6 reports that police were called to the mansion of Markus and Christiane Jung in the Miami-Dade area on Tuesday (Sept. 3) when Christiane found Oosterbroek naked inside their house. A violent confrontation eventually started between Markus and Oosterbroek.
When police arrived, Oosterbroek reportedly became aggressive when the cops tried to take him into custody and had to be tasered. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Det. Javier Baez of the Miami-Dade Police says in a statement, “It’s possible that he may have been under some type of narcotics. Again, he was observed swallowing, ingesting some kind of substance, unknown substance that is.”
The Miami Herald reports that Oosterbroek, knwon as the Dutch Giant in Europe, started his career as a bodyguard for Nelson Mandela in South Africa before forming his own security firm in the Netherlands. The New York branch of his firm opened in 2006.
Oosterbroek is survived by wife April and two small children.
