Sean Giambrone could well succeed Frankie Muniz, Fred Savage and other fondly remembered child stars in his role as video-camera-toting Adam on ABC’s new, fact-inspired ’80s sitcom “The Goldbergs,” which premieres Tuesday (Sept. 24).
The 14-year-old is standing in for series creator Adam F. Goldberg on camera, and his adult self (voiced by Patton Oswalt) narrates the show. Comparisons to “The Wonder Years” are likely inevitable, but Giambrone’s infectious enthusiasm helps “The Goldbergs” stand on its own.
He’s one of Zap2it’s Ones to Watch for the 2013-14 season … and he may be young, but as he tells us, he has definite ideas about what he likes.
