To “American Idol” alum Kellie Pickler, the cause of breast cancer awareness is close to her heart. She famously shaved her head to be a “cancer buddy” for her best friend Summer Holt Miller, who was diagnosed with the disease, so it’s no surprise that she came on “Good Morning America” when the morning talk show went “pink.”
Though Pickler didn’t do an interview to discuss the way breast cancer has affected her life, she did perform two songs on “GMA.” The first was “Don’t You Know You’re Beautiful,” but it was her second performance for “Someone Somewhere” that caused Pickler to get really emotional.
Pickler’s “Someone Somewhere” performance was dedicated to her friend Miller, who was in the audience to support her BFF. By the end of the song, Pickler had broken down into tears, and she quickly ran to Miller after her performance, hugged her, and told her friend that she loved her. That’s true friendship.
The Oct. 1 episode of “Good Morning America” was dedicated to promoting breast cancer awareness, and it included everything from an on-camera mammogram to Ann Romney cooking and talking about her own breast cancer experience. October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
