USA Network’s public service campaign, Characters Unite, has partnered with R&R Partners Foundation’s Flip the Script to launch the “Unite Against Bullying Commercial Challenge,” a contest for middle and high school students to submit anti-bullying campaign ads.

Singer Carly Rae Jepsen made the announcement at “#UniteLIVE: The Concert to Rock Out Bullying” live from the Thomas & Mack Center at UNLV on Thursday (Oct. 3), which featured appearances by “Modern Family’s” Nolan Gould, Sheamus of the WWE, “Psych’s” James Roday and Mehcad Brooks of “Necessary Roughness.”

“As a longtime advocate for bullying prevention, I am excited to see the
original and powerful ads kids across the country will create to help
stop bullying. I am hopeful that empowering students to stop
intolerance and bullying will help create a brighter future,” says Jepsen.

From Oct. 3 through Nov. 20, students ages 13-18 can center the challenge by submitting a short essay or a video. The winner will receive an iPad and a trip to Los Angeles to watch the commercial being filmed. The winning concept will be made into a national commercial to air on USA Network during Characters Unite Month in February and online at charactersunite.com and flipthescriptnow.org. Two runners-up will also receive iPads.
