Imagine being such a famous and respected musician that you just show up in Times Square and ask the police to shut down the street for 15 minutes so you can give an impromptu concert.
That is exactly what legendary Beatles frontman and decorated solo artist Paul McCartney did on Thursday (Oct. 10). “Today” reports that McCartney decided to play a quick gig in Times Square, so the police gave him 15 minutes — enough for a four-song set.
McCartney let fans know about the concert just a mere few hours before it took place, tweeting, “Wow! Really excited to be playing New York Times Square at 1pm this afternoon!”
Between this and his accent-trading skit with Jimmy Fallon (among countless other things), we think we would really enjoy to hang out with Sir Paul. His new album, “New,” drops Tuesday, Oct. 15.
