On the show, Merritt is Olivia Matheson, one half of a brother-sister set of twins who seem to have it all — until tragedy strikes.
“[Olivia] is kind of your all-American, popular girl who’s kind of had everything in iife — great family, great upbringing, well-liked in the town. She’s gunning for Homecoming Queen. And then she experiences a family tragedy which kind of flips her world upside down … it changes her,” says Patterson.
The family tragedy is part of what adds to the darker nature of “Ravenswood.”
“The show is definitely creepier and a little darker and it has the supernatural aspect, which is exciting,” says Patterson. “Being here in New Orleans really adds character and charm and a serious vibe to that, which is great.”
“Ravenswood” premieres Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 9 p.m. ET/PT before moving to its regular timeslot, 8 p.m. ET, on Tuesday, Oct. 29 on ABC Family.
