With the 2013 World Series kicking off on FOX on Wednesday (Oct. 23), Major League Baseball’s postseason finale is about to gobble up a lot of primetime real estate on the network. So, which of your favorite shows are about to be affected in the coming days?
The first show to feel the pinch is “The X Factor,” which finds itself preempted on both Wednesday and Thursday for Games #1 and #2, with “Glee” also benched on Thursday. Game #3 takes place on Saturday, so no major programming is affected there.
Game #4, however, lands on Sunday, effectively postponing FOX’s entire Animation Domination lineup. (Sorry, fans of “The Simpsons,” “Bob’s Burgers,” “Family Guy” and “American Dad.”) Now, it’s entirely possible that Game #4 could be the end of the Series, but Monday’s lineup of “Bones” and “Sleepy Hollow” could be thrown off should a Game #5 be required to determine a winner between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Boston Red Sox.
Now, a Game #6 wouldn’t happen until Wednesday (Oct. 30) if necessary, but Tuesday’s comedy lineup of “Dads,” “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” “New Girl” and “The Mindy Project” are collateral damage of this scheduling nightmare, finding themselves preempted on Tuesday, as a special, two-hour episode of “The X Factor,” the first live show of Season 3, takes their place, in hopes of avoiding a possible Game #6 preemption itself.
Halloween, Thursday (Oct. 31), could be the night of a decision-making Game #7, but FOX appears conformable that won’t happen, scheduling the reveal of the Top 12 on “The X Factor” for that evening. Still, it’s entirely possible that could get bumped as well.
Which World Series preemption has you the most bummed, FOX fans?
