“Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” will act as a bookend to the events of “Thor: The Dark World.” After the tease that the ABC drama will feel repercussions from the latest Marvel movie, the episode description for the show’s Nov. 19 episode proves a crossover is indeed happening.
As noted by Entertainment Weekly, the episode description for “The Well” confirms it will pick up from where “Thor: The Dark World” left off. “In the aftermath of the events chronicled in the feature film ‘Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World,’ Coulson and the Agents of SHIELD pick up the pieces — one of which threatens to destroy a member of the team,” the synopsis reads.
“Dollhouse” helmer Jonathan Frakes directed “The Well”. Though none of the “Avengers” cast members have been confirmed for the episode (ABC would not spoil that potential surprise early), the episode will feature appearances from Peter MacNicol as Professor Elliot Randolph, Michael Graziadei as Jakob Nystrom, Erin Way as Petra Larsen, Toby Wilson as Neils, Alex Neustaedter as Maynard and Sylvia Brindis as Elena.
It works out well that the release of “Thor: The Dark World” ties in with November sweeps, because “Agents of SHIELD” could use the boost in viewers almost guaranteed by the promise of a crossover. “Thor: The Dark World” hits theaters on Nov. 8.
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige previously teased that events from the Marvel Cinematic Universe will affect “Agents of SHIELD” “sooner than you realize. I think that’s part of the fun they’re having with that show is that it inhabits the same universe, so if there’s a big event, there’ll be ripples.”
“Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” airs Tuesdays on ABC at 8 p.m. ET.
