Looks like that little-loved second “Sex and the City” film left a really sour taste in Cynthia Nixon‘s mouth. Enough to blind her to the current prequel to her iconic HBO series, “The Carrie Diaries.”
AnnaSophia Robb, the star of The CW’s series about a young Carrie Bradshaw, tells Vanity Fair that she had a run-in with Nixon, aka Miranda Hobbs on “SATC,” and struck up a conversation. “I ran into Cynthia Nixon downstairs at a Broadway show, in the bathroom,” she says. “I was at the counter, and I went, ‘Oh, hi, I’m on ‘The Carrie Diaries’ show. I’m a big fan.”
Turns out Nixon has never heard of the show, according to Robb. “No. She had no idea,” Robb said with a laugh. “Which is the best part.”
Luckily, Nixon’s co-stars haven’t been as unaware of the prequel series. Sarah Jessica Parker, the original Carrie Bradshaw, reached out to Robb when she got the role, while Kim Cattrall reached out to Season 2 newcomer Lindsey Gort got the part of a young Samantha Jones on the series.
Are you surprised that Nixon wasn’t aware of “The Carrie Diaries”?
