The Salvation Army and NFL once again kicked of the Red Kettle Campaign to raise money for families in need during the annual Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving game, which this year hosted the Oakland Raiders. It’s the 17th year of the Salvation Army kicking off the holiday giving time at the Cowboys Turkey Day game. Last year, the program raised nearly $150 million.
Singer Selena Gomez is the celebrity face of the kick-off this year, performing at the halftime of the game with a medley of three songs off her “Stars Dance” album: “Like a Champion,” “Slow Down” and “Come & Get It.”
“Selena is a triple threat and we cannot wait to share her incredible performance with the nation. To have her help us bring greater visibility to the Red Kettle Kickoff and The Salvation Army is a great gift this holiday,” said Charlotte Jones Anderson, executive vice president and chief brand officer for the Dallas Cowboys, in a press release prior to the game.
